Haste, quickness, mastery of arms, celerity, dual wield and weapon speed.
Reminder to Self: Quality over Quantity, what is the Value here?

Try to forget your mathemathics and try to apply the figures to the game. Quickness - forget more or less damage. Quickness should be allways maxed. Forget comparisons between Avalonians and Highlander WA. It could sounds like not as important, but the success or defeat in the game is in those small differences. And WA for Melees is the main important thing. And the difference between first choice for the class and worst choice is realy huge. It is possible to play an arms as avalonian. But you will stay gimped. Same, like a troll-caster. |

Highlander is the best offensive choice, no doubt. There could be an argument for higher Dex classes when you see your main role being a peeler, but even here, a Highlander fills this role well, too. It is only the skirt which makes the Highlander a horrible choice.
That being said, DAoC is a group game. Your characters starting stats are completely irrelevant compared to your group setup and the teamwork in your group. Your RR14 Ogre Armsman will not even be noticed when you run with a casual group vs. a practiced 8men. Last edited by threer on May 08, 2018 15:10, edited 1 time in total.

That is absolutely true. Besides of personal skill of player in front of PC, there are lot of other things playing a big role. I know lot of people, enjoying the toon they play without being FOTM-choice. Just made the choice of race by RPG-decision or just because of aesthetics. No problem.
But we have spoken here about optimum. |

Pretty sure most would notice a RR14 Ogre on Uthgard.
Albion and having fun
