"The problem in RvR is the low number of players and not the possibilities to get Rp."

The above is a non-sequitur.

The correct order is:

The problem with the low number of players is the lack of alternate possible means of gaining RPs to advance THUS the problem in RvR.

Hi there,
what use is a high realm rank if you have no players/opponents?
Do you play Daoc just for the Rp? I think this is a wrong approach.
In most discussions, Daoc is reduced to just RvR and Rp.
But Daoc has much more to offer.
Ultimately, the players (and not the Rp) decide what and where they want to play.
Honestly, it's not about the Rp in the game for me, I have other goals.
The Rp are a nice side effect but not my primary goal.
My personal opinion of getting Rp for Pve content is not right.
I also think that the path Genjiro is taking is in the right direction.

Greetings

Rudra I dont agree with you but some ppl i know do. Its just an idea to help create chances for inc and action. Similar to guard tasks as an idea aswell. You may look at it as pve for rps, but look how popular an idea dopples were. It still has its merits as an idea to create action, just reduce dopple rps to 250rps. People said the same thing you are saying now about pve rps for keep takes , but look at what has been keeping the server up and people rvring and logging in, a lot of keep takes :hammer: I know you just want to sit in a keep and set shrooms in sneeky places and have people insta die to them with their 1 los check. But just think , the higher lv doors will help you overall

Hello,
I get that there should be more action in RvR.
I'm not against the RvR changes Genjiro has planned, on the contrary I think they will advance the server.
They should only have something to do with RvR, unfortunately the doppelgangers didn't have that in the 1st event on Uthgard.
I also looked at where the idea for the doppelgangers came from.
There they were placed in keeps and thus gave an additional reward.

One could also introduce loot from the purple at lvl 8+ keeps, either standard drops or rogs.

As a conclusion with a wink:

I haven't done much RvR lately as I'm very busy at work and there haven't been that many :)

Greetings

This is all just my personal opinion, please don't take offense!!!

Great to see that something is going on. Good job! Hope population will grow a bit. :hammer:
Hope GMs are fine with what they have stated, that they are fine with just 80 people (300ppl was Trishin Statement long time ago) playing the game under their vision.
Its important to leave this server running doesn't matter how low the numbers will be. The other servers can fail but Uthgard still will be there, thats Uthgards only chance.

Edit 19/09/21: Well Uthgards chance has come.

Hi Genjiro, awesome to see you here and making progress on stuff.

It sounds like the idea is to bolster keep warfare through various RP rewards. I want to just bring up a couple of things that could help.

First, palintones. From what I gather they should be able to help defenders blow up rams quickly. They should hit rams for thousands of damage, but are bugged here and hit every target for the same damage amount (300ish IIRC). It would be great if these were a viable tool for defenders (maybe even be able to store them in the keep vault?)

Second, pets. I guess this is more controversial because I believe guard behavior is technically correct regarding seeing all pets as neutral until the controller is in the aggro que. However, it can make defending with small numbers incredibly frustrating. Pets will wind up on top of defenders, while keep guards stand and watch. Perhaps a good compromise would be giving the Lord the same AI as teleport keep guards, that attack anything in range. So if you get petted while defending, running to the Lord is an option.

OK, so this is exciting, particularly as my "prime time" (Asia timezone) is sometimes between 3-6 players at best...

Completing a supply run to keep
Escorting a supply transport to a keep
Repairing a damaged keep door
Upgrading a keep door
Scouting an enemy keep

I appreciate that these are intention-based statements, and that RL has us all pulled in various directions... is there some timeframe target that we are looking at here -- just to expectation set myself on when these things _might_ start to be a factor?

If it's interesting, then you know there is desire to experience it, is there any more information you can give around scope/scale/timing (non-binding, just indicative)?

Thanks in advance.

We're given the channels we're given... dunno what else we can do? There's a Discord server, but not sure if that's considered to be "official" feedback.

What do you recommend?
