i dunno how it is in the mid or hib realm, but to be hounest, in the last 2.5 years i never had a chance to get any profit out of all the time and effort i heve put into all of my crafters, players just don't have the money to pay for crafting, crafters who have an order for MP just sell their 99% stuff at mat price to others, and now crafting got better chance to give skill points.. so even more boored players will start crafting...

just sad to count the numerous weeks of farming golds to raise leg crafters, if you are treated as a thief if you ask matereal price for a 9 try 99% piece of armor.. with leg weapons removed it will even get worse...

i bet no crafter can get back the money he spent to lvl the crafter by taking orders, and i won't even talk abouth the free time it took to get that crafter legendary... what went wrong here? does uth want us crafters to keep loosing money? i never played live, but i heard how it was there, and believe me, selling 99% plate torso for mat price wasn't an option there...

In live you have your House Merchents and most 99%-Mps disapear with in a week even with a 50% mark up.

Here tho in Hib uthgard

I normaly charge Mats+Time+15-20% mark up.

Good friends or guildies i normaly charge @cost price. But more then not they always give me a 25% tip for my time.

so with that in mind. if your looking to make alittle gold for all your work and time, make sure you let the person know you will charge a % more then what the Mats are worth so you can make some gold ^^
and also tell them the costs of Frist trys and how much more each try will cost after that.

If they dont want to give you the tip then dont do it for them.

I went alchemy. less time and more gold.

My Advice - Don't start crafting in Uth unless it is to fullfill your own needs first. You can easily outfit your whole stable of characters by buying the goods instead of LGMing one skill. {except tailoring :oops: }

I took up alchemy to be able to help my guild out and do pots for myself. I rarely charge for what I make and try to supply all guildies unless its a special restock or Effects order.

It ends up not being a profit thing but a need thing. If I find myself playing melee classes alot then it maybe in my best interest to make a Lgm weaponmaker so I dont have to search for a crafter every 10 levels. I can fashion the pieces I need in a hour where finding a person could take days.

I find that gold here doesn't neccesarly buy happiness but simplicity is Bliss.

so true

i got lgm tailor to make myself my own MP set of leather

and now i got an order for a guildie for MP cloth set.. so.. its more need than greed that flows the boat

As I heard its same on live. You rarely get the money back you invested. We will introduce buyout option on auctioneers or housing merchants. This can help to sell stuff significantly imo.

option:

increasing the outwear-function in the game.

using your weapon / armor should wear the items more off, and with the durability, you should have an 1to1 percentage, meaning:

if your durability of an item fell to 98%, you will only get 98% of the Armors/Weapons DPS/ArmorFactor.

that would increase the economy a bit... :) (okay, not only a bit) ^^

just a thought

MP's generally dont erode fast. But we could make the degrade rate of all items a BIT faster. I think currently the degrate rate is quite low.

Why should people that do RvR craft? They can buy the stuff from other crafters. Why level a crafter when everything can be bought from other crafters.

I think the key is the market system. Auctions just have the problem that you cant get it right now when you want it and you never know whether you even get what you want. With the market system that ends. Crafters set a price. Other player pay the price or not. The price would be dynamical like in real world.

Pls don´t change the degrade system,i don´t want to craft SCs over and over again just because the old Armor is worn off, cause its expensive and time consuming, and i want to play in RvR and not PvE -.-...

MP Items degrade up to 6 times slower than 99% Items. You would hardly notice a degrade rate increase. And again see the threads topic. YOU should not craft, you should go RvR.

Other crafter would happily make that work for you. The idea came because crafter want to be meaningful and earn some money. See the first post.

If degrade rate would change at all it would be a very slight unnoticable change. Its a roleplaying game, if someone wants to earn money by creating items and supply for other players he should get the possibility to do so. In other games like WoW its absolutely normal to earn money by crafting.

Like I said before, lets test how a market system can help here to create a real market for craft stuff.
