As you might’ve noticed we’ve removed the proccs and damage types from all existing leg weapons. All old leg weapons can be traded against compensation according to the following rules:

Weapons of quality 98 and below:
- Statcleaning (all stats are removed, you can SC the weapon once more)
- Exchange for 750g

Weapons of quality 99:
- Statcleaning (all stats are removed, you can SC the weapon once more)
- Exchange for 750g
- Exchange for a single line respec

Weapons of quality 100:
- Statcleaning (all stats are removed, you can SC the weapon once more)
- Exchange for 750g
- Exchange for a Respec or Reskin of choice

During the next few days the level 50 requirement will be stripped from the leg weapons. Also you will be able to sell every leg weapon for 375g to a merchant. Please show a little patience when using CallGM for compensation exchanges… a lot of our GM are currently not available or on vacation due to the season.

We’ll start to add the new brimstone weapons to DF this weekend. The new BP system will be discussed next week. Be sure to check the news frequently in the next days so you won’t miss the starting time for “Coop-Dungeon.”

Further exchange dates:

Due to the fact that we are talking about over 400+ items I decided to not answer
on gm-calls for legendary exchange ... I can't just jump around within and to different
realms all the time. So I decided at least for me - in order to still be able to work
on everydays GM work - to set timeframes for exchange. Further timeframes are:

Saturday 9th: Midgard 17:00 - 17:30 | Hibernia 17:30 - 18:00 | Albion 18:00 - 18:30
Sunday 10th: Hibernia 18:00 - 18:30 | Albion 18:30 - 19:00 | 19:00 - 19:30

imho those "compensations" are very short.
Leg. 99% take lot of money, time and effort to be gimped this way.

even 98 gets kinda screwed imo :(

98 heater = usuable
98 normal weapon = unusable for anything really

and what about components not being into weapons yet?

Everything below 99 is mostly a throwaway product constructed during aiming for MP's. Even 99's are some of those "lucky shots." Also 99's cost much more then 98's. The stuff below 99 is compensated with the raw material crafting price. Most player bought those weapons even cheaper because they were mostly, as stated before, side-products from MP crafting.

Since some of those were traded for 300g I don't see any reason to discuss this.

wow presto.. did you get a staff discount on that 98 leggendary then? :o

I spend pretty much 1p for my 98 heat leggendary which i would run with JUST because it was a heater

but oh well.. guess i just have to take the 750g and get my MP normal weapons then /hug staff - but honestly you undervalue leggendary weapons

If you try to accuse of something once more I'll make sure you never accuse anyone here once again. Ask around, I'am usually stayting true to me word...

Honestly, I don't own a player character... because I don't have time to play ;-) I might be wearing glasses but my eyes are good enough to read the prices that players have been recounting on the IRC. I cant compensate stuff that was bought for 300g with a few plats. 750 was the max to go for.

Apart from that you don't seem to have any idea how much damage can be done to a shard by pouring out to much money at once. Events, rewards, drop quotas etc. pp. - everything needs to be balanced so there's the right amount of any resource present. That is a simple reason why I can't give some people the triple amount of gold that they paid for the actual item.

I guess you have to work on your tradesmanship as well as on your attitude.

The above is ture... But if you're crafting a masterpiece which means 50 tries... you'll have plenty leg weapons that come off that. You couldn't sell those weapons back then so you could throw them out to players for low prices. Getting 300g is better than getting nothing. Also the mp buyer is usually charged for every try that doesn't produce the desired item.

I'll tell you something you don't want to hear but some people knew this was coming and sold materials and weapons on the auctioneer for full price to some players that thought they were getting a steal.

If you staff members are going to do a major change like this then I suggest you keep it under heavy silence as this was leaked out to those on IRC and I bet half of Uth did not know either from not speaking german or not using IRC.

So to some it up. The have's with all the money and experience knew this change was coming and unloaded the goods and all the Have not's got stuck with the left over ******.

You can like it or not. Thats the truth.

To flip it the other direction. I bet if those that were farming the Trifecta dealer knew of its change, then they would not have been selling all those stones on the auctioneer for less then 2p. Rather saved them till say now and sold them for 2.5p as finding 200 diamond seals can be a adventure.

That change came swift and no one knew it was coming. Maybe this change would have better issued in that fashion. :?

I do appreciate all the work that you all have done for me to have hours of fun. Thank you for that.

@denasti
i dont speak german and i do not really use irc but i knew that legendary will be took out of the game soon.

@presto
MP weapon is needed for classic weapons cause of imbue points. but for legendary weapons, the only difference from a 98% to a MP will be 2% dammage ( if weapon doesnt need to be repaired) and 2% more proc ( if it's implemented on uthgard and if i remember well)

so there is no lot of difference and usually if you crafted a legendary weapon , you tryed to get a 97%+ and if ever you get a MP you are really lucky but you don't really care.

i just say that to give a comment cause anyway i don't use legendary weapon and i am happy to see it disapearing ^^

Quotation from last weeks news

"Sorry for not posting any news last week. We’ve been quite busy with creating concepts for some major flaws on Uthgard. You already might have noticed some of our attempts to straighten out the situation. One of these is the change regarding legendary weapons, which will affect all weapons in the next days. "

That much about "leaking" secret information. I polled quite a few players before planning the changes that were made to these weapons. So it was an open secret to begin with...

I found out 3 days before Trifecta was changed. Everyone was selling legendary ingredients all of the sudden and alot of players thought it was because of people farming trifecta but it continued after the Trifecta change. In fact look at the auction fluxuations and you will see Leg weapons actually started to be auctioned massively up to 3 weeks ago.

So, long before that message was posted the profits had been taken and that post was just a kick in the nuts to all those that bought them up. I think that the offer to buy them back is very nice gesture and will help recoup the costs.

I am merely pointing out that some people knew about this long before others because of their connections somehow. So the newb that has no guild and saved up his 1p to buy that nice Leg weapon was oblivius to the outcome. Total public discussion or no discussion would have been fair.

I like the decision to oust Leg weapons though

Guys just be happy. There have been times when we used to hand out absolutely
no recompensation!
The fact is that we only consider MP legendaries as a true evidence for a player os
having spent huge amounts of gold and time leadng us to offer a free choice between
reskin/respecs which are usually worth 4-5p and or in terms of reskins counted
as almost so expensive that no one would be able to afford it if someone sold it ;)
Items up to 99% are considered to be lucky tries and/or waste of Masterpiece production,
as Presto already stated! For 99% we still offer a single line respec while 98% and
below as listed are only worth the 750gold. Still it is possible to "clean" the weapons
regardless of their quality, meaning you may Spellcraft it to have a perfectly
into your SC fitting weapon with a nice skin!

The question on how many gold players receive by turning in their legendary
was discussed over a longer period of time and we counted in every framework-requirements
to determine a fair exchange for you and for us!

Further exchange dates:

Due to the fact that we are talking about over 400+ items I decided to not answer

Sunday 10th: Hibernia 18:00 - 18:30 | Albion 18:30 - 19:00 | 19:00 - 19:30

With regards
Haldan

PS.: @Denasti: The change or removal of legendary weapons was certain
since a brief period of time to everyone able to read the forums.

i'm ok with the changes, but as pana stated, quality od leg weaps didn't make a lot of difference, i was using a 96% and was realy happy with that..

just a question: i have a lot of leg drops in vault, they have cost me a lot of dragon raid points since dragon started dropping them...

i could have bought at least 10 ra respecs with those points if i had known they would be wortless a few months later

so, what can i do with those now?

can't the formula for new leg weapons be changed? so we can make normal weapons and get the skin with the drops?

dragon still drops those items, could be nice to get at least some use for them withouth having to spend 1 plat per try...

just an idea..
