Hey all,

What i'm about to post right now might sound like i'm out of my head :lol: , but i've been playing MMORPGs for the past 9 years or so now and this is what i reckon should be implemented.
- As i am from the Albion realm, i obviously will ask for this to be implemented to sorcerers, but this can work for both Mids and Hibs.

I reckon that reveal should be implemented for sorcerers. What i mean by that is: a Sorcerer should be able to "detect" a player in stealth for the following reasons:

- A sorcerer is, in most cases, (correct me if i'm wrong), the first and the most easiest target for a stealth.

- A sorcerer has almost no chance of casting any spell if a stealth has popped up and hit them, there's like a 1 sec reaction time or ure dead - if u get lucky that is, otherwise ure dead 1 shot ^^

- For those of you that have played Ultima Online (UO), another MMORPG, you would have noticed that mages can use a spell called "Reveal" and of course assassins and matadors have a skill called detect hidden which both do the same job i.e detect stealthed players

- Agreed that a sorcerer's main job is CC-ing, but still, i think this would make it a little easier for a solo'ing sorcerer or even a duo.

I dont think that this has ever happened on DAOC (might be wrong), and it's probably quite a big change to be made, but i've played for a few months now and i take it that the staff are always open to new suggestions. :wink:

lol you are funny...

stealther are already so gimp, you wanna nerf them more?

sorcerer got a RR5 abilities that's called "muhahaha you want to kill me but you can't".
not any stealther can kill a sorc, and anyway will have problems to kill most of the casters ( maybe wizard)

i just post to give you some reasons, but anyway it will never be implemented

won't happen

this is dark age of camelot not UO - staff won't implement a spell that is both not on live forums and not a real daoc ability for casters

sorry for casters - good for stealthers

pan, stealthers might be nerfed but against a sorcerer they allways have the upperhand, yeh this might not be implemented but it would be a good thing to at least look into it.. i have a wizzard too, but i'm not askin for it to be implemented for a wizz, cuz a wiz can solo yellow con players with no problem at all.. 2 bolts and 1 dd and *dead* but with a sorcerer, wat do u do? mezz, insta debuffs, poison? then wat?! use your baseline hpleech? and still the yellow con player will be at more than half hp..

- but yeh.. it's not a dream actually, it's a suggestion :)

so because stealthers are built to attack casters (their actually purpose in daoc) we need to have more ways for casters to hunt them? xD

a sorc can easy kill a stealther... quickcast - mez - range - debuff, dot, LTLTLT - any good sorc will spec split between mind and body so their lifetap is really nasty

I play a nightshade - don't tell me sorcs can't kill a stealther xD i kill wizards more then I kill sorcs due to sorcs having both root and mez to CC me

I dont know if "reveal" is part of original DAOC - if its not, you can completely forget it.
Uthgard is not one of these silly "Funservers".

If you really get "reveal", i request something to balance it out :
please replace the crappy RR5 Nightshade RA with something useful,
like 60 sec complete Stun immunity :twisted: :wink:

hey, i feel its a good idea.. but just one question.. why are casters in alb more easier to kill then casters from other realm.. lol.. i've done a few duels.. and my infi can drop most casters in one shot(alb) but when it comes to hib/mid.. a PA only does half if not a quarter.. :/ is it possibly that they have more hp items? lol.. :/

anyway i think it would be worth giving sorcs the ability to reveal.. even if im an infi myself :)

No Spack, it's not implemented in the live servers and maybe that is what is going to stop the staff from implementing it on Uth but i agree with u that Daoc isn't the same as any of the other MMORPGs out there.. thas y i'm playing it ^^

But i like the idea of the RA's, maybe make reveal an RA? with a few min re-use timer.. well i dunno.. need staff input for this..

take away bolts from wizard, as already said in this topic, he can easily kill yellows, this char needs a nerf!... maybe give the bolt to the sorc, such a easytokill class...i would delete it if i had one...
guys please do some real rvr on uthgard and then discuss about characters abilitys and their effect in rvr.

Blood, i repect wat ure trying to say.. yeh i realise how ure feeling already being the top wiz on the shard.. but if u forget playing at agra is not the only rvr that's happening in game.. to get there we all have to go through brae, wilt and thid.. and we have experienced rvr.. i'm not saying that this HAS to be implemented.. thas y i put up a poll.. to get the view of others.. i mean this was only a suggestion not an order.. and this has nuthing to do with character assassination, so please dont take this as a point at any class or upon yourself..

i didnt want to attack you, and maybe my post was a bit to offensive and general but if you say a sorc is lucky if hes not a one shot and is chanceless against stealthers, your experiences cant be of any high lvl rvr action. and i dont think its the right way to prove, that some classes have disadvantages against others(what is part of the game anyway) out of experiences made in battlegrounds... yes nukers are often pretty strong in bg's because enemys often dont have their resis capped and the only thing the nuker needs to cap is his int..he doesnt need a special high quality weapon like melee classes to deal a pretty high amount of damage...but if you fight in the high lvl zones as it is on uthgard agramon, the things are totally different(i dont say imbalanced). but in my point of view to pick up the topic again, the sorcerer is one of the strongest classes on uthgard and also in my point of view, if chars like the sorc are getting additional abilitys making them stronger i loose the little rest of believe in the staff i rarely have

yeh thanx for your input though blood.. i understand, and yes agreed that sorcy's are pretty strong.. but undersanding that daoc is one of those onl games that have to stick to 1 main path, in other words each shard cannot go it's own way and create it's own unique chars and abilities.. but it's all good.. my main char's a wizz anyway :P as i said in my first post, that i might be outa my head ;) but thanx all, for your response.. i reckon an admin can close this topic now :)
